My morning routine benefits me in many ways. First of all, I’m preventing early signs of aging. Although some may think 26 is to early.. believe me, the wrinkles are on their way. I know the wrinkles want to take over my eyes but I’m fighting back! This is going to be a lifetime battle but I’m sharing my secrets to winning the war! Not only is a good skincare routine good for your skin but its really great when applying your make up. The best make-up results start with a clean palette.
First Things First: Clean Yo Face
I love using this light scrub. It removes every single impurity that I might have accumulated over the night. Sure, that might not seem like it could be much but think about how you sleep. Do you drool or sweat? Did you wash your hair? Cause if not all of your hair’s oils and dirt that is has collected shares a pillow with your face. Not to mention your skin shed tons of dead skin cells regularly so over night they just keep on collecting in your sheets and pillow. So just clean your face 😉 And it’s a great way to start off the day!
Second Step: Face Serum
You should be having breakfast and so should your eyes! Serum with Vitamin C is a great way to give your skin some love and pep for the day ahead.
Third Step: Eye Cream
Your eyes just had a great rest from the night and they are about to be put to work! They need all the hydration they can get! So please please please treat them to a nice eye cream! You’ll like the way you look and they’ll like the way they feel. There are so many creams for so many reasons, mine prevents wrinkles which is my focus at the moment and also gets rid of circles if maybe you didn’t get the rest you should have.
Fourth Step: Face Moisturizer
You really want to make sure your moisturizer isn’t too heavy if you are applying your make-up in a hurry. I love this moisturizer because it is so light and smells super fresh. If you don’t allow your moisturizer to properly dry then it could cause a texture when applying foundation. I have a few recommendations for face moisturizer. Some people say you want SPF in your moisturizer and others prefer to add it separately or even in their foundation. I haven’t developed a firm preference yet.
Now you may carry on with your make-up primer, foundation, concealer, etc. I’m sure there are other things I could add to my morning routine, like another eye serum or a toner or something but in addition to my Nighttime Routine I really think I’m okay for now. However, if you have any products you are l o v i n g let me know because I love trying new beauty and skincare products!
**disclaimer** my skincare may not be the right answer for your skin, these are what I find to work for my unique skin. I feel oily by the end of the day, dry around my nose, some redness, some uneven skin tones, sometimes have a monthly blemish, etc. So my suggestion if you don’t know your skin is to start taking note. Try new products. Ask someone at Sephora or Nordstrom to help find products that are right for you! We all deserve to feel beautiful in confident in our skin!
